Do I get a CBS membership if I register for the CBS2025 conference as a non-member?
No, if you would like to be a member of the Canadian Biomaterials Society, you need to register as a member on their website (https://biomaterials.ca). The CBS2025 conference does not collect membership dues for the CBS.
How do I find out if I was selected for a travel award?
Travel award notifications were sent out by February 27. Please check the email associated with your abstract submission, and check spam folders incase it was filtered.
Where can I find out if my abstract was accepted?
You should have received an email from Oxford Abstracts (no-reply@oxfordabstracts.com) with the abstract decision notification on February 25, 2025. Please check the email associated with your abstract submission, and check spam folders incase it was filtered.
You can also check the status of your abstract in the Oxford Abstract platform. Simple login, and check “Decision”. This will indicate if the abstract was accepted, and for which type of presentation (oral or poster).
Where can I find my CBS membership number?
Once your membership is paid, follow these easy steps to find your membership number:
- Go to the CBS website and login using the same email used to when paying for your membership (Note: if it is your first time logging in to the CBS website, you will need to reset your password using the “forgot password” link.)
- Navigate to Membership → Your Profile
- Locate the “Contact Card” box on the right side of the screen
- Your membership number is at the bottom of the Contact Card box
If the membership number is not showing up in the contact card, navigate to “edit profile”. The membership number should be located beside your name at the top of the page.

What should I do if I do not receive my CBS membership confirmation and membership number following registration?
It has come to our attention that new members have encountered issues receiving their membership number and confirmation after paying through PayPal. The CBS Board of Directors is working to fix this issue.
In the meantime, any trainees encountering this issue can enter “Trainee” in place of a membership number to ensure they are considered for a travel award. We will reconcile memberships manually during the review process, and will be flexible to ensure all eligible trainees are considered for the CBS Travel and Merit Award.
For all other membership types, please enter “N/A” if your membership number is not available.
